Unlike overly sweet preserves where sugar can overpower the fruit, this plum butter lets the plums take center stage. It begins with a gentle sweetness, followed by the natural tartness of the fruit, while warm cinnamon, aromatic cloves, and star anise linger quietly in the background. The result is rich and complex without being overly sweet—you can actually taste the fruit and every spice that went into it.
